A Journey from Menstruation to Menopause
Wednesday, March 3rd, 6pm
March 3, 2021 @ 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
Panel Discussion Exploring the Role of Stigma, Society and Gender
About this Event
The Wildflower Alliance’s Wild Ivy Social Justice Network presents a panel discussion exploring the journey from menstruation to menopause and the ways in which societal attitudes, economic disparity, race, sexual orientation and gender identity impact voice, choice and access through a lifetime. Speakers from a variety of backgrounds will share their journeys, touching on how lived experience with emotional distress and psychiatric diagnoses can affect access to information and interactions with providers. Featuring Elliot Ezcurra and advocates Beth Manion and Sherry Brandford from the Wildflower Alliance.
Followed by a Q & A, as well as a follow-up open group share the next evening. Welcome to anyone identifying with the topic as well as healthcare providers.
This event is free but donations to support the Wildflower Alliance are welcomed. The Wildflower Alliance supports a global network working to increase support for marginalized experiences such as suicide, psychiatric diagnosis, housing issues, and other life-interrupting challenges. The Wildflower Alliance is also home to the Western Mass Recovery Learning Community and the Wild Ivy Social Justice Network.
