Many of us who have experienced services in the mental health system (and so many other systems) know that there are both the written and unwritten rules of how to navigate them. For example, there is the documented process of how to access a psychiatric hospitalization, and then there are all the unwritten rules of how decisions get made, and what to say (or not say) to get what you need.
The RLC is currently embarking on a project to simultaneously help people become familiar with what is out there that is written (rights, etc.), and also benefit from our collective knowledge as a community to put all that we have learned that is unwritten into words, as well.
In our November newsletter, we will release a survey to ask you what you have learned by experience about how to navigate these systems.
Stay tuned for more!
